Transitioning to Vivalon and Back to the AFIC!

The Age-Friendly Intergenerational Center opened in the Spring of 2018 with a small repertoire of programs, with no expectations that it would be a huge success. The outcome far exceeded those expectations. COVID didn’t impede our growth and we were successful in keeping people connected, albeit over Zoom, with friends and relatives throughout the county, state and far beyond, all the while remaining sustainable, thanks to generous donors and grant funding.  The Center became so much bigger and better than we ever anticipated. With over 600 subscribers and the immediate need to expand programming and resume live classes, it seemed timely to “merge” with an already well-established, larger organization that shares like values and goals. 

Two years ago, Vivalon, formerly Whistlestop, "adopted" some of the Age-Friendly Intergenerational Center's programs.  Beginning in October, those programs returned to Age-Friendly Solutions' Age-Friendly Intergenerational Center, all at no cost!
